New Zealand Institute of Resource Based Economics (NZIRBE) is founded on the works of philosophers, futurists and scientists such as Thomas Payne, Jean-Jacques Rousseaux, R. Buckminster Fuller, Jacque Fresco and many others. Building upon their collective realisations we developed an organisation that embraces historical and indigenous wisdom, coupled closely with the modern-day developments and understandings from science and the capacities from advances in technology.
Assembling Trend Patterns from all genres we designed concepts to carry those trends forward which enabled us to effectively ‘see into the future’. Quality Assurance methodologies from aerospace industries were expanded into the socio environmental arenas which brought forth possibly unprecedented realisations.
The NZIRBE is based at Lake Rotoiti, in New Zealand’s Nelson Lakes National Park.
The Institute also provides research and statistics analysis material to the New Zealand Money Free Party. MFPNZ contests general and local elections to ‘test the water’ in regard to the transition to an economy without currency, and to provide valuable feedback and additional data from academia, business, iwi, politics and the general public.
The organisation is a confluence of many genres. We bring together data, experience, revelations and research material at a time when many previously long-held assumptions and traditions are failing.

In addition to our academic activities we also host a small intentional community formed to form, advance and trial the RBE concepts in real-time. The Institute includes 100 acres of farmland/native forest and provides several long and short-term accommodation options for permanent, and other residents.
